EMT Re-Entry Pathway

Let your NREMT certification lapse? You may not need to start over. 4Front ETC provides BLS skills competency verification and optional refresher CME – the pieces you need from a Utah BEMS-approved training center.

Important: 4Front ETC verifies your BLS skills competency and provides optional continuing education hours. We do not administer the NREMT cognitive exam and cannot submit your application on your behalf. You are still responsible for passing the NREMT certification exam and submitting your own application through your National Registry account. Requirements vary by which pathway applies to you – verify your specific situation directly with NREMT before enrolling.
Which Pathway Applies to You?

Two Ways Back In

NREMT recognizes two different pathways depending on whether your Utah state license is still current. Both require the same three things: education hours, a passing score on the NREMT cognitive exam, and BLS skills competency verification.

State Licensed Pathway

For you if: Your Utah EMT license/certification is still current, but your National Registry certification has lapsed.

Education requirement: 20 hours of continuing education meeting current NCCP requirements (within the past 2 years), or a state-approved EMT refresher course.

You still need: A passing score on the NREMT EMT certification exam, taken through Pearson.

Re-Entry Pathway

For you if: Both your Utah state license and your National Registry certification have lapsed.

Education requirement: 40 hours of continuing education meeting current NCCP requirements (within the past 2 years).

You still need: A passing score on the NREMT EMT certification exam, taken through Pearson, and a copy of your lapsed EMT license or certification.

Skills Verification & CME

As a Utah BEMS-approved training center, our Training Officer can verify your BLS skills competency and send documentation directly to NREMT on your behalf – satisfying that portion of either pathway. Need CME hours too? We offer those in the same visit.

The Process

How It Works

Confirm Your Pathway
Log in to your NREMT account or contact NREMT support to confirm which pathway applies to you and exactly what you still need. We can help you understand the requirements, but NREMT determines your eligibility.

Schedule Your Session
Contact us to schedule your skills verification session, with or without CME hours, at our Roy, Utah facility.

Complete Skills Verification
Demonstrate BLS skills competency to our Training Officer. If you're not quite there yet, remediation is included – we work with you until you're ready, not just once and done.

We Send Verification to NREMT
As a Utah BEMS-approved training center, we submit a letter of BLS skills competency verification directly to NREMT on your behalf.
5
You Complete Your Application
Submit your own application through your NREMT account, including your CE documentation, and schedule your cognitive exam through Pearson. Your skills verification and any CME completed with us satisfy those specific requirements – the exam and application submission are yours to complete.
