There is a difference between finishing a program and being ready for your first call.
We built 4Front ETC around that difference.
Weber State has hundreds of students. Boot camps have a checkout time. We have twelve seats and instructors who know your name, your pace, and exactly where you need work. You are not a number here. You never will be.
Eight dedicated Saturday skills blocks*, spaced across the program. Not a one-week cram session followed by a test. Spaced repetition. Progressive skill building. We train until it becomes instinct, because your patients deserve nothing less.
Eight hours every week, Tuesday and Thursday. In person or virtual. Direct instructor access built into your tuition at no extra cost. No other EMT program in Utah offers this. Not one.
* All skills blocks are held on Saturdays, 8 AM to 5 PM. Holiday weekends are skipped and the affected block moves to the following Saturday.
Steele and the 4Front instructor team are with you from day one to your last skills block. Not delegated. Not handed off. There the whole way.
B.S. in Biological Science. Firefighter I and II. Wildland fire. Wilderness medicine. Charlie came to EMS the long way around, which is exactly why he can explain it to anyone. He is an Edu-tainer. He has been called a favorite teacher more times than he can count. He will make you do it again until it is right -- and you will thank him for it.
Our lead instructor team brings decades of combined EMS experience to every cohort, including national EMS instructor recognition, advanced instructor certifications, and award-winning teaching. Backgrounds in maternal health, critical care, and patient assessment shape an approach built on calm, clear coaching under pressure. This is a team that has forgotten more about patient assessment than most instructors have ever learned.
Backed by a team of adjunct instructors and physician medical oversight from Dr. DellRay Anderson, MD, 4Front ETC maintains a maximum 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio at every skills block. You will never be lost in a crowd here because there is no crowd to get lost in. Twenty years of combined experience. Two thousand students. One standard.
You do not have to have it all figured out before you walk through our door.
You just have to show up.
Sage and Steele have spent over 20 years helping people discover what they are capable of in emergency medicine. People who were not sure they could do it, with a little help and encouragement, found that anything is possible.
That is what this school is built for.

"I had the opportunity to learn from Rachel and Charlie before they started their own program. I can confidently say they are some of the most supportive and impactful educators I have ever had. They take their time to create a safe and welcoming environment. They actively encourage growth by reminding students that failure is part of the learning process. What has stood out to me most is how much they genuinely care about their students beyond academics. I truly cannot recommend them enough."
"Excellent program! The ability to attend classes and skills sessions without interrupting my work schedule was a huge benefit. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and always available to help. This is NOT a boring class -- you will learn a ton even if you have had previous experience in the EMS field, and you will have fun doing it! Highly recommend for any age!"
"4Front ETC is the BEST place for your EMT classes! They really make sure that you know what you are learning about and they take the time to break things down for you. They keep the lectures educational but hold your interest the whole time -- coming from someone with the attention span of a goldfish, this comes in handy! They really care about their students and it shows!"
"I had a great experience with this EMT class. They really care about their students and make it manageable even if you have a busy schedule. The instructors want you to succeed and are very supportive throughout the process. Charlie and Rachel are both fantastic instructors!"
"4Front ETC has been a wonderful program to complete your EMT. Charlie and Rachel have been amazing instructors. The coursework can sometimes be overwhelming but they help you through it and they want to help you succeed. It is nice to still be able to travel and attend class through Zoom and complete coursework on the go."
